Steak mince loaf with chargrilled peppers and Taleggio cheese

Hi everyone. Today I enjoy making this succulent main dish, suitable to be eaten hot or cold.

Ingredients

  • 500g of steak mince
  • 2 peppers
  • 2 slice of bread
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Milk q.b.
  • Taleggio cheese
  • Parsley and basil
  • Parmesan cheese q.b.

Procedures

Break up the sliced bread in a bowl and mix it with the milk. Leave it to rest.

In the mean time, chargrilled the peppers and let them rest until they are cold.

In a different bowl, put the steak mince, salt, pepper, parsley and Parmesan cheese.

Then add the egg and the bread, which it should be previously squeezed from the milk.

Mix the ingredients well together and leave the mix to rest in the fridge for around 30 minutes.

Clean now from their skin and internal seeds the peppers, and let them marinate with mix of herbs, garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil..

Take from the fridge the steak mince mix and put it on a greaseproof sheet.

Put another sheet of greaseproof paper on top of it… It will help you to pin-roll it.

Remove now the paper and start filling the loaf.

Add the peppers, Taleggio cheese, and basil.

With the help of the paper, in a gentle way, start to roll your loaf and put it on your baking tray.

Bake it for 35-40 min with the paper around, at 180 degrees.

Then take it out from the oven, remove the paper, dress it with extra-virgin olive oil and breadcrumbs, and bake it again for other 10-15 minutes until golden.

Let it cool down a bit before slicing it and enjoy… Ciao!!!
